Topics such as banking basics, managing account balances, the importance of savings, and utilizing a credit report were all covered during the presentation.
The literacy classes began last year thanks to current Jimmie Hale Mission board chairwoman Robin Greenlee and her coworkers at then USAmeriBank. That company was later acquired by VNB, but the workers continue their volunteer efforts at the shelter.
