George King encourages the men at Royal Pines during a Phase I graduation celebration in July

George King, director of the Mission’s Royal Pines Recovery Center in Hayden, Alabama, will be live on WDJC’s Roxanne & Ace during the show’s “A Call to Prayer” time from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

The weekly segment features two local pastors providing live prayer over listeners who call in with specific requests. While the vast majority of the two hours will focus on prayer, the guests will also have the opportunity to pepper that span with conversational points about their lives and ministries.

“WDJC is a long-standing Christian voice in Birmingham,” King said. “I’m excited to be a part of a great on-air ministry like this. I’ve been on with the station various times through the years, but it’s been a while, and it will be my first time on the ‘Call to Prayer’ segment.”

Though King’s presence on the program is tied to his church-shepherding and not his affiliation with the Mission, there is no doubt that is passion for sharing the Gospel and influencing the lives of Christ’s sheep is the driving force behind his passion at both Church of His Presence in Hueytown and Royal Pines.
