“Homelessness hurts when I see it, it really touches me. It’s
heartbreaking.” Scott began volunteering by serving meals every week at Jimmie Hale
Mission. Scott explains his motivation for volunteering in this way: “I didn’t want
[clients] to be alone. I listen and pay attention, this is something that I can do to ease
pain, I sit and communicate.”

Darrell’s life has been on the edge of death more times than most can
imagine. Yet, through fire, addiction, and frightening close calls, God has quietly been shaping a new beginning for him.
