Father’s Day
Father’s Day holds a unique and special place in the hearts of many. For some, it is a time to celebrate the lives of men who have had a positive impact in our ives. For others, it’s a painful time that holds a precious few good memories. For Julius and his family, Father’s Day is a day to celebrate reuniting with family and mending broken relationships.
A Warm Welcome
When the Mission’s van pulled up, Richard started to turn away. He assumed there simply wouldn’t be room for him with his wheelchair. Our driver, Bennie, stopped him and said, “Don’t worry. Get in the van. We’ll make room.” And they did.
For Richard, that moment meant more than simply getting out of the freezing night. He had stayed in other shelters many times before, but he said something about Jimmie Hale Mission felt different.Paving a Way Through Adversity
