Even while shopping for groceries to feed their own families, Birmingham-area shoppers made a phenomenal effort to help provide meals to the homeless and hungry of the Jimmie Hale Mission.

Mr. Hubbard, owner of Western Supermarkets presents a check to Executive Director of the Mission, Tony Cooper.

During the 16th annual Western Supermarkets Scan-A-Meal for Missions program, shoppers have raised nearly $15,000. This donation translates into over 8,100 meals!  During the 2016 holiday season, shoppers elected to add a $1.95 to their total in order to provide a meal to the homeless and hurting in the Birmingham area.

Over the 16 years that Western has partnered with us, their shoppers have donated over $189,000 which equals more than 97,100 meals provided to the homeless and hungry men, women, and children we serve.

During the last year alone, the Jimmie Hale Mission provided more than 198,000 meals to men, women, and children in need and anticipates providing around 50,000 meals during the upcoming spring and Easter season.

You can still provide a meal to the men, women, and children that we serve.  Click here to give online or call us at 205-323-5878 to give by phone.
