Jessie’s Place, our shelter for women and children, received a HUGE blessing (about 5,000 lbs. huge) as they received a 2011 Ford E-350, 12-passenger JP Van Blog Picvan.

Prior to the new van, Jessie’s Place had a 15-passenger van that had been used since 1998, when the facility first opened its doors to accommodate women and children in need.

Since Jessie’s Place can serve up to 20 to 30 women and children at any time, the need for making multiple trips or implementing a shuttle system had to be put into place in order to get the ladies and children to their various destinations in the Birmingham area.

The new van will now allow Jessie’s Place to better accommodate the women and children they serve when going on field trips, doctor’s visits, job interviews and church.

Megan Mitchell, program coordinator of Jessie’s Place, stated “We are so thankful to have this new van; it is such a blessing!”
