Volunteer With Discovery Clubs
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Discovery Clubs, where we share the good news of the Gospel with public school kids. We hope to see you soon!
How Do I Get Started?
Attend a training session! We offer several training sessions at various times and locations to make it as convenient as possible for you. During your 2-hour training session, we’ll cover everything you need to know and answer any questions you may have.
Click here to view our list of training sessions and get registered for the one that best fits your schedule! Or call us at (205) 941-9852 and we’ll be happy to sign you up over the phone.
What’s Involved in Being a Volunteer?
Being a Discovery Clubs volunteer means that you will make a meaningful impact in the life of a child. Volunteers are needed for an hour and half a week to share the Gospel message with children in public schools. You will need to provide your own transportation.
What If I’ve Never Taught Before?
Not a problem! That statement is true for most of our volunteers. Many of our volunteers are just parents, grandparents, students or concerned community members looking out for the spiritual well-being of our area’s children.
We provide you with all the tools, supplies and curriculum you’ll need. Our training sessions (see above) will also help prepare you to share the love of Jesus with others.
Can I Choose the School to Volunteer In?
Yes! You can choose the school that is closest to your home, work or church or you can choose the school that has the club schedule that best fits your schedule.

What If I Can’t Meet the Time Commitment?
If you feel called to help, but don’t think you can commit to an hour and a half a week, we still encourage you to give us call. We could use a willing heart as a possible substitute mentor, to help at events or in the office, or maybe even to donate needed items.
