Homeless women and children are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population.  This is often because single moms are most vulnerable to the bumps of life, such as job loss or lack of adequate childcare.  And when a mom struggles, so do her children.

Through our shelter for Jessie’s Place, we’ve worked with homeless women and children for nearly 18 years. However, this year we are blessed to announce a new partnership with The Women’s Fund of Greater Birmingham.  With this new partnership, we plan to strengthen our efforts to help women better their education, better their job situation, better their financial standing and better the lives of their children.  And when moms succeed, so do their kids.

Poverty may be multi-generational, but so is success.  And it’s never too late to start working on a changed life!
