BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The women’s affinity group from Bessemer’s BHM1 Amazon facility donated more than $6,000 of Wishlist items and presented a check for $4,350 to Jessie’s Place on Sunday, December, 19.
Affinity groups are employee recourse groups that bring Amazon employees together across businesses and locations around the world. The Women’s group is the largest of the organization’s 13 groups with over 80 chapters worldwide. It is committed to attracting, developing, and retaining women in both tech and non-tech roles across all of Amazon’s businesses.
The affinity team provided 55 pairs of shower shoes, 23 mattress pads, 12 large towels, nine pillow protectors, a steam table and window blinds form the Jessie’s Place wishlist and rounded out the $10,000 donation with check presentation.
The Jessie’s Place staff and entire Jimmie Hale Mission family would like to thank Bessemer’s Amazon’s women’s affinity group for its incredible generosity this holiday season! The lives of countless women and children will be blessed for months and years to come thanks to these much-needed items.
Just would like to compliment your charity work.
