After-school Bible clubs that offer fun, safe and inspirational activities that help children learn the love of Christ.
What Are Discovery Clubs?
Discovery Clubs are Bible clubs that meet in public elementary schools during after-school hours. These clubs are freely offered and teach the Gospel while also building foundations for life, developing character and changing our communities.
What Do We Do?
Discovery Clubs trains volunteers to help children find the sustaining Word of God through fun, unforgettable weekly activities after school in a safe and nurturing environment. As a result, kids learn the love of God at an early age, as well as the love Christians share with the world around them.
Today we have more than 350 trained volunteer mentors reaching over 2,000 children with the Gospel and life values in many public schools throughout Birmingham and Blount, Jefferson, St. Clair and Shelby counties.
Verse Proverbs 22:6 says it best, “Teach a child in the way he should go. Even when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
What Do We Offer?
For volunteers, Discovery Clubs are a fun, fulfilling way to spread the Word of God and influence the next generation while deepening their own faith. Volunteer requirements include:
- Attend a 2-hour training session
- Pass a criminal background check
- Commit to 1.5 hours per week at a school of your choice for 23 weeks
- Provide your own transportation to and from the school
