Cheryl will celebrate this Christmas safe, secure, and filled with joy. She knows that God’s plans for her life are so much more than she could have ever dreamed.

With every wrong turn Julian made, one thing remained constant: the steady voice of his father, Buddy. He prayed faithfully for Julian. Buddy spoke the truth to Julian and never stopped loving his son. At the end of his strength, Julian came to the Mission for help. Through prayer, healing, and a lot of hard work, he found his way back. Today, Julian is in recovery and serves as a Recovery Coach helping others find hope too.

“Homelessness hurts when I see it, it really touches me. It’s
heartbreaking.” Scott began volunteering by serving meals every week at Jimmie Hale
Mission. Scott explains his motivation for volunteering in this way: “I didn’t want
[clients] to be alone. I listen and pay attention, this is something that I can do to ease
pain, I sit and communicate.”

Every day, our homeless and hurting clients face a multitude of challenges that require a comprehensive approach to healing. Many have attended the “school of hard knocks” for a long time. That’s why our programming, including education, uplifts and transforms the whole person: body, mind and spirit. At the Jimmie Hale Mission, we care for our brothers and sisters in Christ so that they may re-enter society with a fresh start and begin successful, productive lives.
